In this inaugural journal entry, I reflect on the loss of borrowed identities and the slow emergence of something new and unexpected. I pull on threads from 2013, 2015 and 2022 to show how one identity gave way to another.

I believe there's something here for almost everyone navigating ambition, identity or growth: postgrad uncertainty, turning 30, comparison, borrowed role models and transitions between identities.

This is where I start- imperfectly, honestly, in motion.
